Yet, i did not find the finals anything to shout about. I more or less forced meself to watch thru it - after all, this is the first time in YEARS when i can actually watch the finals as i was home alone. But in the end, i switched it off close to the end of the 3rd and eventually final set of the game.
Sure Nadal was brilliant. Many a times i went 'whoaaaaaa' when watching him. The way how he covers the court and the power of the shots he makes, at times in a split of a second.
But i still enjoy watching Federer. He is still my favourite. I feel that Federer brings the extra specail touch to the game. The kind of shots he makes are truly awesome, the way how he places the ball at every corner of the court. His range of shots too are amazing - besides the forehand and backhand shots, i love his drop shots. Previously, he oso used to go to the net and volley a lot. And somehow, he brings elegance to the game - no grunting loudly, no picking his butt...
So to me, a Wimbledon final without Federer is just not the same. Sad that Federer is no longer as invincible as he used to be - but to me, it is not because others are better. His main nemesis is his own self. He keeps on making too many errors and mistakes. Hope to see him at his best again soon, tho.

At least you persevered through to the final set! I switched the telly off after he won the first.:P
You're absolutely spot-on in your analysis. I wonder whether fatherhood has mellowed him down a tad too much?
well, to tell the truth, i spent most of the time reading the papers!!!
fatherhood? possibly. peaked too early? dun know. but u may have a point - he doesn't seem as hungry as he used to be.
